Music Mattters May 2023

At DPC  want to grow followers of Christ Jesus. Singing together is a vital part of this.  We want to let the Word of Christ dwell in us richly as we sing and so want to sing songs with words that are clear and rich in biblical truth. The particular place of singing in our church meetings is that music engages our hearts as we rejoice, praise, lament, mourn, repent and celebrate together. (Col 3:16, James 5:13, Eph 5:19) We also want to sing in a way that is appropriate to the emotion contained in the lyrics as an authentic response to the gospel.

2023 is a year of consolidating of our music teams after planting at West Dubbo. Our priorities are for our existing teams to be lead well, to work well together and be encouraging and joyful.

At the end of 2022 we had EMU music join us to work with our music teams.  It was a great day. This year EMU music will be coming back to run a training day for anyone who's interested (even if you are not currently on an music team.)

Our current team leaders are:
Overall direction Wayne Connor
Church@10 James Hollier
Church@6 Lydia Kelly
Church@9/11 Ben Connor and Lisa LIm
