Friday Update from the NTE team!
Our first stop on Friday, after our morning debrief and talk feedback, was visiting two schools (MAGS and DCS) for Chapel. From the school bells ringing to ranking Zooper Dooper ice block flavours, there was an air of nostalgia as we stepped foot into the school gates. During Chapel, Ryan and Daniel got to speak from Matthew 10 about the blessing it is to be a part of Jesus’ family, and Rachel shared her testimony to the kids at DCS.
Group A, otherwise known as the Alpha Team, then went on the road to the nursing home Bill Newton VC Gardens to sing carols and engage in conversations with residents. We also had the opportunity to chat to the residents about the 1 Samuel 8 talk, their Christmas plans and beliefs.
After being fed well by some ladies at church and enjoying some bonding time over some questionable singing led by Mathew, the rest of the team headed to the Holy Spirit nursing home for a time of carols and chats.
God was sustaining us throughout our busy day as in the evening we led youth group at MAGS, where we were reminded of the chaos and excitement of Friday night youth group as we played games, heard testimonies and talks, sat in for Bible studies and farewelling some of the mobsters. It was such an encouraging night witnessing how God works in the lives of the mobsters and the leaders! Praise God for the conversations we got to have with the youth.
